Day 17 .. November 22, 2007 |
| Today is a free day but it is a wet day at the resort. Rained most of the day. In spite of the weather there was a wedding taking place on one of the pagodas at the end of a dock. For the sake of not having much else to do I took some pictures of it. It appears the young lady was overdue in getting married. We did have a cooking demonstration later in the afternoon learning how to prepare a local fish dish, "Kokoda", and ate a sampling of it as well. It is raw fish left in lemon or lime juice for about 2 hours then finely chopped veggie's and coconut milk is added. This was on the menu at our farewell dinner the next evening so both Arlene and I ordered it again. Tasted something like pickled herring. We also viewed the sunset ceremony put on by the local Fijians. It was quite interesting a cloudy but nice sunset. |
