Day 18 .. November 23, 2007

We start out the day with a Discover Fiji discussion lead by Grand Circle Travel's Fiji manager, Simon, held in the Grand Circle Lounge. We then boarded the bus and left for the town of Sigatoka to visit the food markets. From there we depart to Komave Village for a traditional welcome which includes the "Kava" ceremony. We then looked over their local crafts (for sale of course) and enjoyed Fijian hospitality in their homes for lunch sampling many of the native foods. After lunch we departed for a visit to the Ratu Filise School. The children put on a performance for us and had us dance with them. We then toured the school with the children. They were so excited! My little friend was Joese, a 3rd grader. He guided me through the school showing me his classroom and where he sat. Real sweetheart! We then returned to the resort.
