| We are now in Caens, France. We leave today for more sight seeing and head for the Normandy Beaches. We were at Omaha beach near the American cemetery. The cemetery is considered United States soil although maintained by the French and paid for by the USA. We also passed the English cemetery and the German cemetery in the same area. We also visited the Saint Lo Ruins and Le Mont Saint Michael. We then continued on to Tours, France, where the Tours de France bicycle race had just finished for the day. |
